Any ideas how to have a better career??

i'm already 30yrs old. but seems like my life goes paycheck to paycheck.

i worked as a receptionist.

about 10yrs ago i completed my AA degree for medical office mgmt.

now, i want to be a LVN....any idea how to begin??

  1. sometimes i feel like my career is similar to this, once i start to save up, something comes up and i have to blow my entire checks on catching back up. I agree with the answer above, that becoming an LVN will take a lot of time and discipline. there are several options that you have if you really really want to get into it... you should research more about the program and the career options that you have. also, you could look to see if your AA degree can get you a head start in any way... one thing you might be interested in is testing out your dream job. if you enter this contest online, you could have a chance to try the LVN life for a day and get some advice on whether it is the right choice for you or not.  


  2. My opinion:

    1) I don't know your lifestyle but perhaps, if your life goes paycheck to paycheck, may be a problem of money management. I would try to spend less and save more and live my live within my financial means.

    2) LVN is a good job but you also have to be realistic, it may take few years of full time college to complete the program. That may leave you in further financial problems.

    Perhaps you can keep the current job and study nursing on a part time base.

    3) What about using your AA degree for med office management now?
