  1. There are so many lovely ways you could commemorate your dad - planting a tree, donating to charity, naming a star after him -  why choose a tattoo?

    You're only 16, that's very young to make a decision about something that you're going to be stuck with for the rest of your life. Would you choose a skirt or a top to wear that you'd have to wear for the next 70 years? Then why make a decision about something that will on your skin for the rest of your life, no matter how much weight you gain or lose, how wrinkly you get or how many kids you have.

    I don't know anything about your dad, but maybe you should ask yourself if tattooing the body of his daughter is really something he would want done in his name.

  2. Hm...maybe his initials over your heart? Or, perhaps something that relates the two of you in a place you can see it easily if you want to. Like, a quote, or something personal you confided in him about, shortened down to a few words... maybe a favorite story he read to you or something?

    Perhaps an hourglass with no sand in it, his name somewhere around or in it, to symbolize that the time you shared with him can never run out? Or if you like the idea but not the hourglass, you could always go with his initials/name and the sideways 8 for eternity and whatnot.

    If he had a hobby like..for example, reading... you could put his name and favorite book's title... or his favorite car or something.

    Just a few ideas... ^^;

    Edit: To the other person that answered; I'll admire your point, but sometimes, it's best to do something you'll have to live with for the rest of your life no matter how much you end up hating it... or loving it.
