Any ideas of an ancient piece of art/architecture from before 1000 AD that is not popular?

I am trying to write a paper on a piece of art/architecture from before 1000 AD that is not in my history book. I have to pick something that I can incorporate into my university campus. I would like a piece of art/architecture that would evoke feeling maybe about one of our coarses of study, for example, if I could use the lammasu's that used to guard the gates to cities and temples I would talk about how they evoked fear in visitors and how that could be related because we could put them at the entrance to our sports arenas to evoke fear into our competitors. I am just so out of ideas because the book we are using is basically a complete guide to art and I can not use anything in it! Thank you so much for any help you may have!

There's an ancient wooden henge at Lismullen in Ireland that's like the one in England.  At the moment it's being bulldozed to make way for a motorway.
