Any ideas on babysitting a very active 5 yr. old boy? He doesn't like sit-down crafts, like drawing or paint?

Musical statues!  Turn on some music and dance, then stop it and you have to make a statue.  My son loves this.

go outside and toss a ball around, take him to a playground where he can run around.

A park with a playground.  Take a picnic with you and let him run the energy off.

Just kidding.  Is there a place where he can swim safely?  Swimming burn a lot of energy.

My grandson likes to take a tambourine or cymbals and 'march'  in a parade around the house playing along with Sousa marches.  He also likes to throw a frisbee and although he throws it close to, I 'accidentally' make sure he does a lot of running to catch it on his end.  Pretending to be different animals is fun, and so is putting on bouncy music and dancing.
