My dad is celebraiting his 70 anniv on a cruise on January next year. He has invited my siblings that live all over the world with their families to a cruise to the caribbean. We are going to be 17 people celebraiting. We want to spoil him and make public that we are on the cruise because we are celebraiting his birthday. Any ideas?

  1. try this web site

http://www.ytbtravel.com/davidmartey and talk to the staff on board

  2. Very nice idea.  Naturally, tell your travel agent and they will let the restaurant know so a birthday cake will be given to your dad one night at dinner with the waiters all singing.

Let the cruise director know.  You will be able to speak with him personally and he can say something about your dad at one of the shows.

They will be glad to put balloons on the cabin for you.

Of course, there will be many people celebrating birthdays on board and many couples celebrating honeymoons or anniversarys.  Your dad is special but will not be the stand-out on board.

    Happy Cruising.

  3. Deal w/ a good travel agent. We have connections to make this happen! If you use one of the travel web gorilla companies you'll be dissappointed.

  4. first off happy birthday to your dad how great a cruise for the family i would go with a better cruise line not carnival ! i have found that royal Caribbean is a great line and if you let them know its a celebration they will make it special . have fun  and enjoy your cruise

  5. When you learn of the cruise line, call them and ask if dad can sit with the captain for dinner at least one night, along with say a few older children without kids to make one of the nights special.  Possibly the first night of the cruise.  Also, see if you can't upgrade his cabin to a balcony cabin.  He'll love that, and so won't everyone else when they go to visit him.  You'll feel like you own the ship, instead of having to find seats for everyone around the pool which are usually taken.  You can also contact the concierge when you arrive and ask what she thinks is good for dad while on board.  If you're in St. Martin, take the America's Cup sailing tour, for about $70 a person.  If you get two boats filled with just your family (plan this way ahead of the time you get there), and he'll have a blast as you guys race back and forth, someone on the "team" serving beers and water fights...You'll have a blast.

Wish you the best. Sure sounds like fun!

  6. When you get to the cruise ship, ask to speak with the Cruise Director and they will probably help you! They might even use your dad in some skits or shows!

Their job is to handle the entertainment throughout the cruise and so I'm sure they will be more than happy to use someone to highlight.

Also - call the cruiseline before the trip and they will usually arrange balloons and Champagne for your dad's room.

Of course - this really depends on the cruise line you go on, but most of them are pretty good at entertaining you.

    Hope this helps!
