I will be having 18 7-11 year-olds over for a sleep-over and thought it would be fun to make rice crispy treats. I have the recipe, but need ideas on how to decorate.

  1. you could add m&m's or peanut m&m's.

also, add food coloring to the fluff before you add the rice krispies....

    add chocolate chips

  2. that cookie cutter idea sounds really good, maybe you should have some kind of frosting to spread on top or chocolate to dip them in and have m&ms or sprinkles or chocolate chips they can decorate themselves

  3. You could put some candy out so that the kids could decorate their own.

  4. butterscotch chips, mini marsmallows , m and m`s,coloured sprinkles, use them to make faces or initials of the childrens names

  5. make them in a sheet pan, then use cookie cutters to create fun shapes...you can then decorate them just like a cupcake or cookie, with colored icing, if you want to stay away from sugar ontop of sugar...try just some rainbow sprinkles on top, right after you spread them into the pan...makes them nice and colorful...or you could use 1/2 rice crispies, 1/2 cocoa crispies....you can also spread on a layer of melted chocolate, then a layer of peanut butter, put in the fridge for 20 minutes, then spread in your rice krispies treats, and youll have chocolate/peanut butter layer on the bottom, yum.

  6. I added candy sprinkles to the mix AFTER I took it off the heat.  Then form into small balls & wrap in cellophane that can be tied with curling ribbon.  I have also spread them out on a bigger sheet so they are thinner (or use 2 jellyroll pans), then let them "dry" over night.  The next day I used large cookie cutters to cut out big shapes.  (Dip the edge in hot water to make it easier)

  7. Hello,

You could make your rice Krispies as normal and drizzle them with different flavors of melted chocolate chips. White chocolate, peanut butter etc.... and then you could top them with sprinkles, mini M&M's, and many other decorative toppings!

That sounds like my house on the weekends!

Good Luck and have fun with those kids!
