Question:

Any ideas on how to carry things in your hands when you have to (temporarily) use crutches?

Things like your cup of tea; your hand bag (keeps falling off my shoulder and sliding down the crutch!); shopping bags - I've tried hanging them on the cruches, but I overbalanced. How inventive are you guys??

  1. Get one of those beer drinking hats with the straw and put tea in it?

  2. If you can figure out how to use one crutch you'll have one free hand. Otherwise use a back pack or shoulder bag to carry everything (drinks will need something that seals).

  3. PUT YOU TEA IN A FLASK - easy to carry around.

as for everything else (not fashionable) but a bum bag!!!! no slipping straps sorted LOVEY!!!!!

or a record bag that will go over your head with 1 arm through big enough for carrying your shopping home xxxx

    good luck

  4. Hire a man to be your slave

  5. hi i had your same problem i broke my leg ice skating soo yea all you need to do is take a bag that goes over your shoulder and put it over your head on the oppisite shoulder

    good luck

  6. Sorry about your injury, I know what you are going through. I can carry a cup of coffee by holding it in one hand and holding that underarm crutch to my body by squeezing it between my upper arm and ribcage and dragging it along.  You can't fill the cup too full.  But with forearm crutches, this is not possible. Or, I would use a travel mug with a secured top holding it with one finger while the rest were on the handhold. There are many things that can be carried with one finger.Feel free to email me with other problems

  7. i dunno about a cup of tea thats a hard one maybe a remote control car or a slave is needed for that one but other things like shopping etc you could put your things in a rucksack on your bag so your not heavier on you right or left your even

  8. with my purse--the strap was long enough to go around my neck and one arm.  As far as everything else it was a balancing act--or I made my husband do it.  LOL!

Edit--was on crutches for 3 months after snapping my ankle and having surgery to s***w (literally) back together-got pretty good at balancing just about everything.

  9. while holding one crutch normally squeeze the other into your ampit and lean on it. swing it forward to move. it might be slower. but it works.
