Hello, I love my new house. But, There is a small window in my shower. I mean it is at my head but i still do not like being in there knowing someone could look through it.

Any ideas on covering it? I dont want something tacky .

It would also have to be water proof of course.

Thanks in advance.

  1. Your profile pic conflicts with your goals my dear Stace.

  2. You can buy water proof covering for the window itself, it distorts the window so you can't see in or out clearly. Can be picked up at Home depot type places.

  3. a curtain mite help of get the tentante  windows

  4. You can buy a shower curtain and cut it down to the size of the window and use a retractable curtain rod to hold it up - just slide it through the holes for the shower hooks.  It is easy and inexpensive.

  5. I just did the same thing in my bathroom window. The best and easiest solution I found was to buy special frost spray paint from Home Depot.  The brand I used is Rust-oleum.  The cap is a translucent white plastic, and the "color" is called 'specialty frosted glass'.  It is in the spray paint section at home depot, which is usually in the aisles right behind the paint counter.  It is water proof and goes on very easily.  Once applied, it looks like the window came that way!  The best part is, it only costs about $3.

  6. wall paper or paint .make small holes in the wall paper to allow for light . use small shapes cut from masking tape to allow light ,then remove them when the paint dries

  7. Most solar type films can actually be applied on the outside of windows - I did some roof lights a few years ago and they are fine, so should not be affected by water. Source from a glazier supplier.

  8. Oh I love it when my neighbors look through my shower window. I knows these three college guys that live in the apartment across from mine and stare at me every time I shower. I always put on a little show but pretend not see them. I wonder if they have figured this out because I now shower like 4 times a day. It feel so hot doing so! I hope this ansers your question.

  9. They sell Frosted contact Paper. Not sure if it would hold up in shower.I'm not sure, but last time I bought it, It didn't cost much.

  10. You can buy some window films at home improvements stores that will at least make the window opaque.

My grandma used to have vinyl curtains in her bathroom, but that just might be borderline “tacky.”

You can replace the window with glass blocks.

I think vinyl blinds would probably work here too.

  11. Hi Stace

we had a similar situation.  We purchased a kit at Home Depot, I think it's in the paint area.  It goes right on the glass so you have privacy but the light can still come through.  There are several different patterns.  It is very easy to put on and should not be affected by your shower.

    Good luck
