Okay, so I've got invited to go on a trip to China. For about 14 or 17 days tops. The program that sent me the letter is Student Ambassadors, People to People. On the trip i go to Beijing, Xian, Hon Kong, and other places. it will also show up on my college record, so that's important too. the only problem is that it cost $5, 999 to go there. and i just dont have that much money.

  1. There are ways to make easy, fast cash, but it depends on your moral standpoint on certain things.  If you're kind of goody-goody, I kind of doubt wether or not you'll be able to swing that much money.  It depends on how bad you want it.  You could:  ask your parents if they have savings you can tap into, ask them if you guys can get a loan for it, try to work and make as much as you can and see if the school will help you fund it or if your parents will pay the difference, you could sell weed for a while and make your money fast, you could do private dances or work at your local strip joint for a while, just long enough to make your loot and leave, you could ask as many people as you can to borrow the money, you could just charge it to your credit card and worry about the consequences later lol.... I don't know, dude.  I would do what I gotta do to make it to Hong Kong though.  You'll have fun.

  2. When I was younger I did a similar trip but to New York.  One of the ways I raised money, was by approaching service groups (Kinsmen, Kinettes, Lions, Lionesses, Rotary, Oddfellows, Legion), and doing a small presentation for them.

I'd write a letter or contact the president and explain what it was I wanted to do.  I'd go to a meeting and do a short presentation explaining, why it was important to me, how educational it was, and what I would be doing when I was there.

They all gave me cheques for various amounts ($100-$1000) and when I returned I went to another meeting for a slide show and show them how it went and to say thank you.

Our local grocery store also has a charity bbq out front and people or groups use it to raise money (cook hot dogs and sausages).

    Good Luck....it sounds like fun.
