My fiance and I will be married in October. I have searched high and low for the "perfect" wording for our invitation, but can't find anything that sticks out to me. This is both of our second wedding, we both have children, and want to include them in the wedding invitation. Any suggestions from some creative people would be very much appreciated. I was thinking of adding something like " Please join us in witnessing our circle of love that will make us one" i dont know, what do you guys think?

  1. That sounds nice. Figure out the ceremony and how to include the kids. If you don't mind parents bringing their kids to the ceremony, include something along the line of "Children welcome at the service." No matter how big or small the service, you have to decide how many people you want at the gathering that follows because I think most caterers charge per head. That gets expensive fast! In the invite you should state whether kids are invited to the reception. Or maybe you can send two types of invitations, the general one that invites everyone to the ceremony and a special one to select people (and their spouses if you want them there) stating they are invited to the reception. Keep the invitations as inexpensive as possible. I think the majority of money should go to the honeymoon.

  2. How many children do you both have? You could do something like this:

Child Name #1, Child Name #2 & Child Name #3 invite you to share in the joining of their parents,

    Your Name

    and

    His Name

And then all the details here....

  4. My husband and I got married on 9/9/08. I have a daughter ( ANGEL ) from a previous relationship and we have a son (JACOB ) together. this is how we worded the invitations.

    MISS ANGEL last name

                AND

    MR. JACOB last name

INVITE YOU TO SHARE IN THE JOY

OF THE MARRIAGE UNITING THEIR PARENTS

    mother's name

    AND

    father's name

  5. I have seen them with the children as hosts, which I think is very unifying and cool:

    Lauren and Matthew Jones

    and

    Lindsay and Michael Smith

invite you to please join them

in witnessing the circle of love that will make us one

at the marriage of their parents

    Katherine Jones

    and

    Allen Smith

  6. i always like to keep it simple...maybe something like:

    Together with their families

    so and so

    &

    so and so

invite you to join them in the beginning of their

    new life together....

    just an idea

    good luck and congrats!

  7. Sorry to be gross, but "witnessing our circle of love" sounds like an orgy.  How about "please join us as we celebrate our union as a family."
