  1. There are modern apartments available for rent through government owned agencies. I think most are one or two bedrooms - so you would need at least two. These are probably more suited to those who have been before and are happy to go to the shops to hunt what they want for breakfast.

    I'll add the details later.

Few casas particulares would be able to cope with 7 people - though there mat be some houses in beach towns that you could find.

  2. Cuba is safe but it depends on what you're thinking of. A condo that you would think of normally here or in other parts of the tropics is not necessarily going to be the same. Many Cubans rent out parts of their homes (casa particular) or a full private apartment with kitchen, etc...and you will be right in the heart of Cuban life.

Check the links below for seeing how to book. An individual named Pototo can help you with that.

Or if you choose to stay at a resort, it all depends on where you're thinking of going and what you want to do for your trip.

If you're a family of 7 (assuming there are children) and this is your first time going, perhaps it would be a good idea to look through the information below and see if it will work for you all.

It's not that expensive to book resort packages considering it is an all-inclusive (flight, hotel, food, etc).......it may even work out to be the same as renting a casa particular.

If you don't fully know your surroundings while looking after 7 family members (who may be dependant), it might be a little difficult for the first time....I say 'might be'....not necessarily.

You can consider booking a holiday package for your first time and then see and get to know Cuba for the next time to be able to know your way around.

But check the links below to see what you can do.

Can you give us an idea of the age range of your family?

  3. For seven persons a casa particular may not suit.

For a condo try this website : http://www.gocubaplus.net

  4. You might pick up an Hola sun brochure from a travel agent.  If memory serves me correctly they had some apartments available in Varadero.
