Any ideas on whats wrong with my guitar? pro needed?

My guitar stopped working yesterday. I tested the amp and it was fine. When my guitar last worked it gave out a tapping sound and stopped. Maybe its the jack, wire or something. 1 thing is 4 sure. My amp is perfectly fine. Plz help me

Check all chords first, they tend to wear first  at   the metal jack   also make sure all batteries for the pedals and processor are new remember not to mix batteries- also the female jack can go bad  where you plug the guitar in- the lock down nut can get loose and make the guitar short out and sometimes not work at all. First try to tighten the nut up that holds it in, If it is the volume pod you will have to have it fixed by  a guitar tech. this should cost under $20 to have repaired --- wife of a lead guitarist  :)
