There are two things i need good ideas with. I have been thinking of painting just the one wall in my living room. it is a blank canvas at the moment with nuteral colour on the walls. my sofa is burgundy, and i have a large abstract picture with burgundy and reds in it. problem is, i have just had two rooms knocked into one, so i have two chimney b*****s on the same wall. one has a fire surround with a gas fire and the other one has been converted from a real coal fire, and then plastered into a square which is quitw low to the floor. what colour can i put onto this one wall? and do i paint straight across or just paint the 2 chimney breast? The old coal fire hole has been made into a feature fireplace(or hole in the wall) with pebbles and a tall vase, but i was thinking of putting logs in there for a change or something just for show that is different. any ideas please? would be very much appreciated. thank you in advance.

  1. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think "cut the mustard" (# 6384) would coordinate beautifully with the burgundy. From your description, I would paint the whole wall.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  2. go with black

  3. If the room is small it is best to go with light color's to make the room look bigger, if it is a girl's room go with light pastel pink's and yellow's if it is a boy's room go with light blue's and green's if it is for the rest of the inside of the house dinning room, kitchen bathroom's, livingroom ect... use a off shade white if you have hardwood floor's go with a light sand and do not put stain it will darken the wood use a clear coat resin to help maintain the wood's natural beauty.
