Any ideas re building sustainable swimming hole rural property solar power, filtering water with reeds etc?

  1. if you can make a balanced plan,you have to use all the tools you can but it is possible you can find answers on the web


  2. Depends on what you mean by "reeds". If you mean Phragmites, I'd advise against it; that's an invasive plant in the US. Cattails do a pretty good job of filtration and provide food for wildlife as well. A mixed bed might be the most environmentally-friendly.

  3. Not knowing how big the property is, the only suggestion is the solar and wind power is a great addition to any rural property.   The thermosipon solar hot water system would be ideal.  No pumps, or electricity required.  A wind generator would be good at night or day.  Some solar panels can give you electricity but that is a large investment.  

    Do you have running water thru the property?
