Any ideas/suggestions for Memorial Day/4th of July, Labor Day cookout?

RE: Cookouts and other suggested/ideal activities for apartment building residents on Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. Any ideas/suggestions i.e. cookouts, BBQs, fireworks displays, pool parties, etc.? Should we consult with landlord/apt manager before any holiday-related activities?

Most parties are about friends, family or neighbors, food, music and some fun activities. Have everyone pitch in to pay for the meat and a grill with charcoal and lighter fluid plus tables and chairs, plates, forks and napkins. Have everyone bring a salad or fruit like watermelon or strawberries and/ or a dessert. Use the pool if you have one. Get some simple fireworks like sparklers. Lighted arm bands or necklaces from the dollar store. For more fun you can dance, play cards get some coloring books and crayons from the dollar store for the kids. Balloons are nice too.  Usually about .50 for a plain balloon from a rental store or grocery store.
