Question:

Any ideas to help pay for a new macbook?

My house's basement flooded about a month ago. My brand new macbook for college was ruined. Apple's policy won't cover flood damage, and our homeowner's insurance won't cover anything because the idiot builders of the house didn't put a drain in the interior of the basement. Anyone have any ideas on how I could get another macbook? I have had a job for about three years, but I need all of that money for my college tuition.

  1. im sorry :(

youre in my prayers :) hopefully everything will turn out

  2. sue the builder for not building to code

  3. Well the smart idea would be to get a Dell.  They are more cost-effective, besides that you could set up some sort of payment plan (___ amount per month), I'm really not sure what you think someone can say... legally.

  4. No, your homeowners won't cover it, because homeowners policies don't cover flood.    And a flood policy, doesn't cover contents below ground level (ie, basement).

I'd suggest a second job.   It's summertime, you're young, no reason you can't work 80 hours a week for a month or two.
