Question:

Any ideas to help with major neck pain?

For about a week and a half now, my hubby has been having terrible neck pain. He is to the point where he can't even turn his head left or right without it killing him. He's tried ice, motrin, heat, sleeping with less pillows, sleeping with more pillows. And I have tried massaging it a bunch... I told him maybe he should try sleeping on the hard floor with no pillows, and he will try that soon. Poor guy. :( We would have loved for him to have gone to a chiropractor already, but there is no way we could afford it. He doesn't have a regular doctor either.

Do you have any ideas, tricks, tips, ANYTHING that can help my poor hubby??

Thanks in advance for the help!

  1. I have the same problem except mine is chronic.  However I do know what causes it.  The best advise I can give you is exactly what you are doing.  Except NO heat.  Ice for 20 minutes then off for a while...etc.  Tell your husband to keep his head in a neutral position, in other words keep him looking straight ahead.  I do advise if the pain gets worse he should see a doctor.  My problem is  two bulging discs in my upper spine.  I had no idea that my back could effect my neck.  But that's how it can be.  I hope he gets better soon.  I know how bad this can feel.  Good luck

  2. Considering you're talking about a critical area of the body, I wouldn't recommend any tricks, or even sleeping on the floor with no pillows.

Call some chiropractors and see if they'll let him in on a payment plan. I use a chiroproactor and he is a very caring person. I pay up front, but I know others who do payments with him.
