Any ideas what is wrong with my internet connection?

We have had wireless internet in my house for a while now but over the last few months it has started acting up more and more frequently. It just loses its connection randomly for a few minutes to a few hours at least 3/4 times a day. Sometimes if I unplug the wireless router for a minute and then reset it, it will come back on immediately but other times nothing makes it work. Cogeco is my internet provider and we have a linksys wireless router if that helps at all. I personally think we have a crappy router but my dad is convinced it's Cogeco's fault (I think he just doesn't want to buy a new one...) Any ideas?

You have a bad line/connection . I doubt its your router from your description
