Any ideas where to donate fresh grapefruit?

I picked a lot of grapefruit off of my tree today. I want to donate a bag to a charity. Do you know of any charities that will accept fresh fruit? (Salvation Army, Goodwill). I know they don't accept perishables. But, I need to find a place that will take my grapefruit. My neighbors are tired of them. Should I ask Weight Watchers or a church? Please help.

  2. Maybe you can make grapefruit juice and then freeze it. Or you might be able to peel the grapefruit and freeze the segments (not sure how well grapefruit freezes).  Call your local United Way and ask if they know of any food bank that will accept the grapefruit.  If you have a mission that provides meals to homeless and/or needy ppl, they might accept the grapefruit.  If you work in an office, maybe ppl at the office will have some use for the grapefruit.

  3. Oooohhh! In my tummy! I love fresh grapefruit.

I know that a lot of schools have started programs with area farmers to bring local produce into the cafeteria. Is there an elementary school in your neighborhood?

  4. A church or organization that gives food to people (homeless people or low-income people).
