im hosting an island party with 8 people && i really need some easy decorating, food, activity, etc... ideas. Anything that will make the party a blast! Not too difficult since im young but still. I'd appreciate it if you answer && i promise 10 points!! Thanks sooo much =) <3

You could tell people to dress &quot;hawaiian&quot; and hand out those flower things for them to wear around their necks. Use bright lively colors when decorating such as bright blue, yellow, green. make cocktails (or smoothies if your underaged), also have some fruits out in bowls. have fun!

Go to Michael&#039;s (or other craft store) and buy some cheap flip-flops. They&#039;ll also have lots of things to decorate the flip-flops; and get some glitter glue.  Everyone can make their own pair:) ........Go to a dollar store and you should be able to find all sorts of bright, summery &amp; tropical things to decorate with - including paper goods &amp; glasses  ....  Make fruit kebobs and stick them into a whole fresh pineapple, and use it as the centerpiece.  Strew lots of little artificial orchids around the table.  Get some big artificial leaves and put them under the platters of food.  Fill little wooden bowls with chunks of FRESH coconut, macadamia nuts and sugar cane.......

yes:

INVITES:

1. take used beer or soda bottles, and put the rolled up invitation in the bottle, it will be like a message in  a bottle

2. write the invitations on a peice of paper shaped like a fish or seashell

3.make a dvd invitation. (just record you speaking out all the details for the party, load onto the computer, and burn onto a disk, i have done this b4, great idea!)

DECOR:

1. cut out shapes or words from construction paper. cover with glitter, and tape to windows.  (the glitter looks like fish  scales)

2. get a bunch of balloons and draw on them (you can find balloons at most stores in the card/ party section)

3. hang streamers from the ceiling, or doorways, for a nice touch. (i reccomend blue, white, or light green to match the theam)

4.  try the Oriental Trading Company, you can buy tons of party supplies in bulk, for CHEAP! i used it just last week. and they have a bunch of luao supplies

5. wal mart sells sand and shells in the arts and crafts/ candle section

SWAG (FREE stuff):

1. you can make leis from paper flowers or real flowers

2. buy candles that smell like &quot;ocean breeze&quot; or w/e

3. make cds

4. go to a local dollar store and see wat little things they have

FOOD:

1. ask the guests to each bring some food item

2. cocktail shrimp

3.chocolate fondue

4. crab cakes

5. coconut macaroons

6. tropical trail mix

7. fruit plate (stick to tropical fruits: papaya, mango, starfruit, coconut, pineapple, banana)

8. you can do a regular bbq

Drinks:

1. mix lemonade with fruit juice

2. soda

3. make a tropical smoothie, (with the above fruits)

4. virgin pina coladas (ask an adult how to make this one)

5. serve drinks in coconut shells or

6.decorate plastic cups with seashells or stickers/ sequins

7. garnish everything  with little umbrellas you can get these in the card/party section, or ask an adult to get them and a liquor store

ACTIVITIES:

1. limbo, all you need is a long stick, such as a broomstick

2. dancing

3. pinata

4. water balloon toss

5. 3 leg race

6. ask everybody to dress hawaiian and have a costume contest!

MUSIC:

go to your local party supply store, and the associates there can help you plan from top to bottom, and point you in the right direction.

Go to orientaltrading.com there&#039;s SO much there you can get for decorating and their prices are amazing!  You can even get inflatable palm trees!  Their prices are better than dollar stores!  And they are VERY reliable.  I would definitely check it out, you can&#039;t go wrong with the decorations, they even have Tiki bars and things!!

For games you can play the Limbo, you can do pass the coconut and do it just like hot potato,

For food, just do a regular bbq with burgers and hot dogs, have some sides and you can do virgin coladas, virgin daiquiris, you can core pineapples and have some juice in them, keep the tops and use the tops too.

For decorations too, you can take a pineapple, cut the top off and save it.  Then take out the insides and serve it to your guests, then get some floral foam and wet it down and shape it so it fits in the pineapple.  Get some white flowers, like carnations and put them in the foam and into the pineapple.  Then with toothpicks, put the top of the pineapple back on, but at a tilt, so it looks like a drink. then add a little umbrella, like the drink umbrellas.  These can be your centerpieces.  They WILL look like pina coladas!  The white carnations will look like the white of the drink and when people go on island vacations they drink their drinks out of pineapples, so you can even add a straw coming out of the pineapple.  Everyone will love it!  You can make as many as you like and serve the fruit so it&#039;s not going to waste!

You can do the same thing with coconuts!

You can do the same things with glasses! You can get a Margarita glass, and put some water in and then cut down some light green carnations and put them in the glass, and it will look like a margarita.  Just make sure to cut down the carnations so they&#039;re in the water, but they&#039;re just on the top of the glass like the drink and not sticking out too far.

You can also go to the dollar store or party store, or the orientaltrading.com and get some grass skirts and do a hula contest with your friends!

You can do an ice cream bar! Get chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream or whatever favorites you have and some toppings. Sprinkles, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and marachino cherries and have everyone make their own sundaes.  You can get the plastic sundae glasses at the dollar store or the waffle cone bowls at the grocery store.
