ok so lets say that a girl whos like indianish hasnt been to india in 8 yrs and is DREADING going back but doesnt have a choice

can u help her? like how should she act there cuz its so different?

same situation..6 years wasnt home. finally came back....LOVED IT... a lil cultural shock...be an optimist..take it in stride...

It is going to be big cultural shock. But if she belongs to a really affluent family then it will not be so bad, as their culture and habits are more akin to western countries.

I am an Indian, living in the US...

So how old are you? if you are old enuff and not illegaly here why cant you juz book a ticket and go back? If you are young, then mebbe talk to your parents about it and say them how much you would love to go back to India. Btw if your Q's were a lil more detailed it would have been more easier for me to give more input regarding the same

Hmmm i am not Indian, or any 'desi' but the same thing happened to me. It was really difficult for me to go to Greece after 11  years, but i went there and found it lovely, i met people (cousins) who i didn't know before, and it was just awesome.

Also because i was so new, and unaware of the language Greek, and its traditions, many people noticed me as i was the center of attention...and it was a great experience. And there are lots of beautiful people in forgeign countries, like Greece, or India in your case.

So i think you should be open-minded, and give this a shot. Besides it would be fun, you might even have fun....=)

Please don't let an opprtunity like this pass away, i think it's better to be surprised than expect something.

Just try to be natural, remember few things: be aware and beware. dont go any where alone, wear decent cloths, indians are very friendly, spl in case of NRI, they give respect to NRI, u will fel like a Celebrity. But be normal. u will really find it beautifull experience..... good luck
