  1. If you are not in college right now, then I doubt you'll play in 2012. Are college recruiters contacting you?

Trust me, I'm not trying to dissuade you, but Olympic level players are not a dime a dozen. You have got to be involved in USAV at the club level. You have to get noticed and try out for a high performance team in your region. Then you have to go to a high profile college and be an elite player at that level before anyone will consider you as a a possibility to play for the USA National team.

They make it look easy, like every girl from every high school has a chance, but it takes hard work, dedication to the sport of volleyball, and a willingness to sacrifice other things for you drive to be a national team player. Can you handle that?

If yes, have your parents send you to as many volleyball camps as possible, 3 or 4 a summer. Tryout, make, and play club volleyball for a high profile club. Join a volleyball specific training gym. Get a trainer that can customize a regimen for you that will use plyometrics and benefit your quick-twitch muscle fibers.

If your not willing to do that kind of work and spend that kind of money, then it will not happen. You don't just audition for the national team like you would for American Idol, the current players have been hand-picked by USA Volleyball coaches and scouts from clubs and elite college programs across the country.
