My friend's parents went on a cruise and a bunch of college students were working on them for 5 months straight to save up money. Links or anything would be greatly appreciated! (:

  1. Hi,

My friend has worked in several cruise lines like NCL, Royal Caribbean and Carnival.....

I also asked her about that because I was intrested as well.... as she told me that every employee doesnt matter if its a college student or not has to contact and submit an employment application as anyone else.....

she also said that yes alot they do give you a contract for 3-6 months straight...... she told me that they dont pay very good but the only good thing is that you can save up everything because while you are on board they pay for your food and your room.....

She got her first job at the NCL <<< she submitted her resume at their website.... and also called to make sure they got it and she also talked to the HR department .....

the other ones she also submitted her resume and went to some job fairs that they had.

anyway good luck and i hope you find something .......

one good advice.... contact Disney Cruise Line..... if by any means i think they are the best ones to actually have a something for college student since ever year they recruite for their theme parks.....

  2. 6 month comitments don't usually go well with college summer breaks.  3 month terms they don't have usually.

  3. Usually 6 months is the standard contract, but the concessions are more flexible than the cruise lines.

Concessions are in charge of: Casino, Gift Shop, Spa, Photo...

the gift shops pay well, you have a decent status onboard and usually you dont work while in port, due to duty free regulations.

    and

    www.starboardcruise.com/

control 90%¨of the gift shops on ships.

Hardings pays more and it´s easier to get in.

    Starboard is bigger.
