  1. Best bet is to fly to Kathmandu, see a bit of the culture then head to Pokora (1 hour flight or 8 - 12 hour bus ride...through some of the worlds most stunning scenery). From Pokora you can trek a far as you have the energy for, how far you go in a day is up to you. There are numerous places to stay along the way and they are cheap, and I mean cheap (in region of $3-5 per night, dorm style). You dont need a guide, but you might want to invest in a porter to carry your bag...a good way of giving something back to the local community.

  2. The shortest trek to everest region 9 days. There might be even less days than 9 but I am not sure.

    1. Fly to Lukla from Kathmandu and walk through the bank of Dudh Koshi river, Sherpa villages and mani stones and reaches to Phakding.

    2. Phakding to Namche Bazar.

    3. Rest at Namche Bazar for acclimatisation.

    4. Namche Bazar to Tengboche.

    5. Thyangboche monastery visit.

    6. Thyangboche to Namche Bazar.

    7. Namche Bazar to Phakding.

    8. Phakding to Lukla

    9. Fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla

    Cost of the tour: $220

Flight cost: Kathmandu/Lukla/Kathmandu:  US $ 190 per person
