Can anyone please help with some research for a project. I just need some help finding sources and do not want any answers just links or books that might be helpful. Everything in this project revolves around Canada.

The topics for my project are

- Women's efforts on the homefront

- Wartime prejudices on the homefront

- Funding the war

- African-Canadian and First Nations contributions

- Women in battle (nurses, pilots, etc.)

- Vimy Ridge

Any type of help would be amazing! Thank you!

  1. First of all I want to commend you for asking for resources and not just the answers.

Too often students abuse Yahoo! answers and use it to get answers for assignments because they are not willing to put forth the effort to do their own research, doing research helps retain knowledge!

Not forgetting the sad and inspirational poem "In Flanders Fields" written by the Canadian military surgeon and poet John McCrae.

He wrote the final version on the 8th of December 1915.

McCrae died of pneumonia and meningitis during the war while he was still working in a field hospital. He was 45 years old.

    John McCrae - 30th November 1872 - 28th January 1918.

    http://www.inflandersfields.be/#gedicht

    In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved, and were loved, and now we lie

    In Flanders Fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

    In Flanders Fields.

    - John McCrae
