Any information requested on a savage arms model 340 30-30 bolt action rifle with no visible serial number?

  1. Many of the earlier Stevens-Savage rifles in .22 and centre fire models did not have a serial number stamped on the guns.  My fathers' old Model 340 in 30-30 only stated calibre.  Lots of chaps will poo-poo the old 340's, but after shooting for some 45 years,  I really enjoy the simplicity of them !
