Any insight to why Jeff Lacy is retiring instead of taking big fight with Taylor? check link in details?

I know he barely got the win over Epifiano Mendoza on Wednesday Night Fights but the way he talked in the article made it sound like there was a lot more going on.

This may be a fighter who realizes he is done.  Mendoza hit him freely and often.  Hopefully Lacy is sincere.  He shouldn't fight any longer.

Money and injury. Lacy style leaves him open for punishment regardless if he winds or not and the fact is he is not a big draw in sport or even his division right now so he doesn't know what else to do. he is becoming a "name" fighter.

Jeff can't beat any of them.  He underestimated Calzaghe and got the snot beat out of him in an embarassing fashion.  That took all the fight out of him as he has never been the same sense.  That fight reminded me of what WOULD have happened in ALI-Frazier I had ALI never gone into exile.  

Jeff is done.  If he thinks he's a draw he's mistaking.  He might as well retire before he gets hurt.  He's an ordinary boxer who is slipping.  He's seen his best days.

Jeff Lacy is from my home state of Michigan, and believe me, since the operation on his shoulder, the "left hook" part of Jeff's moniker has been a memory.  Lacy is simply damaged goods, and never fully regained the power and efficiency he once had.  Truth be told, Jeff was always know as a "one armed" fighter, but when injury robbed him of his most potent weapon, his days as a world class fighter were over.  The money involved at the upper levels of competition in boxing makes talk such at best frowned upon, but there it is.  Lacy should have retired after the shoulder injury, but the parasites that infest boxing found a way to squeeze a few more dollars out of Jeff's name.  Such is the business of boxing.

because that last fight lacy had was to tough!!!lol lacy got abit cained in that fight and i think he probably knows that he aint that good and a fight with taylor would certainly end his own career, so its best to end on a high note with a close win over a bum
