  1. Eye contact, talking, and singing.  Reading!!!

Enough regular rest, including a scheduled bedtime and learning to "put himself to sleep" alone AFTER the bath and the songs and the stories and the drink...lol

When he appears to be doing "nothing", he's not, so let him be.  Don't rush to turn on the TV or  volunteer your attention, because his brain is already busy and occupied.

Expand his world.  Go places, meet people.

Believe it or not, both parents need to agree upon a philosophy to provide as much structure and discipline as possible, but aimed towards guiding rather than correcting.

Let your relationship with your spouse continue to remain #1.  It makes a child feel safe when he is not running the family.  And the role model is priceless.  Not to mention you get to go out on dates again!

    Have fun!!!

  2. Playing is one of the best ways children learn and practice what they've learned. Activity boards encourage babies to push, pull, turn, and poke bells, wheels, and dials. Cloth, wood, or plastic blocks are great for showing babies how to build towers and knock them down. Toy telephones, spoons, and measuring cups introduce babies to common household objects. Hand games, such as "Pat-a-Cake," give babies practice with fine-motor skills.

  3. My 4 mo old watches the Baby Einstein: Baby Mozart movie very often and he is already babbling and trying to talk. I think that the movies are a great way to stimulate his mind. Classical music is also very good for them. Also, read to him everyday and let him look at the books. Talk to him like an adult and not "baby talk". To help his growth feed him lots of fruits and veggies. Toys that light up and/or make sounds when the baby interacts with them are great also. You can find lots of educational toys at babies r us or toys r us. Check out www.babiesrus.com they have lots of videos and toys to stimulate small children

  4. sing and dance, read books together, play with other kids, talk talk talk,

but its very important to let him be a kid too. they only get a short time to be kids. so dont make them grow up to quick

  5. My mom is a mother of 7 kids and I am the oldest and we've always heard that playing music helps w/ their memory which will be of great value in the future!!

For example my 5 year old sister knows the words to about every country song and past her IQ test w/ flying colors

But her twin brother doesn't listen to much music, he knows a few songs, and he scored lower on his IQ test!!

  6. to make him grow better, a balanced healthy diet needs to be given, which you will already know. this should include all the different food types. apart from the ones not suitable for babies obviously. To help your baby grow better physically, there are plenty of activites you can do with him - For fine motor skills things like playdough, creative activities - finger painting, playing with water, cold pasta, shaving foam etc.

For gross motor development - those baby seats that bounce are a fun idea that you hang in the door frame, just letting your baby explore - when he is a little older crawling and then beginning to walk, stand him up on your knee let him bounce a bit.

For him to develop cognitively or mentally, i think the most valuable tool is reading, reading lots of fun picture books pointing to the words as you read so your baby can begin to understand what it is you are saying and maybe not just yet but eventually by reading to him, it will encourage him to want to be able to read so he can read the books for himself. Also, toys that require a bit of thinking, although he is maybe a bit young yet toys where you have to fit them into the correct place, encourage cognitive development.

  7. Assuming the diet is what it should because anyone with this kind of question is not about to neglect what your baby eats. Look your baby eye to eye and realizing what a true blessing your looking at and never forget it, the unconditional love you have for them will help them in their developement. Hold them firmly near your heart and let them know your never letting go.

  8. Feed him a nutritious diet and read to him everyday.  My niece could read at a college level when she was in kindergarten because she was read to since she was born..or at least that's what we attribute it to.  She is now on a full scholarship to a major University and she's only 16 yrs old.  She's brilliant.

  9. i herd reading to them helps. that is what my friend dose to her newfew and he is only 8 months old and can already say dad. so i guess it is working

  10. play music & dance with him take him out for freshness  indulge him in various activities like picking up articles

  11. Breastfeed him.  And TALK to him, not baby talk, but talk to him.  Baby einstein is good too

  12. As long as he is typical he is all geared up to grow best and to his potential in all the areas you ask. Now, if he has a special need you ought consult early intervention and those professional speech, physical and so on therapists can do absolute wonders. well on a tangent, I had one son who needed those services and truely blossomed and then I've had 2 other typical children who amazingly have taught themselves everything - just provide love and they will all grow, bloom and become amazing.
