Question:

Any intermediate resources of company financial reports (as prerequisite to Security Analysis)?

I've read a hundred pages of Security Analysis by Graham and Dodd, and I just can't grasp most of it. I don't understand the finer points about the financial statements, which is crucial to the book. I end up reading 5 pages at a time, mainly because it's mentally draining, extended, and I just can't fill in the holes. So my question is:

Are there any books that give an introduction to financial statements and company reports? I understand all the basics of value and growth, book value, and basic income statements, but I lack the intermediate step that will take me to the level of "Security Analysis."

Thanks for your help!

  1. Depending on how in depth you want to be, visit the website of the CFA Institute, http://www.cfainstitute.org/

These are the people who administer the CFA exam and award the charter.  It's very well respected.

The course of study is pretty thorough and there's a good chance you will find what you are looking for there.
