I'M looking on behalf of my husband who is working horrible 12hour shifts and wants better hours nearer home. He has history in manufacturing but also wants to get into IT. Cv can be sent to you. Thanks.

Where is Sheepbridge?  Visit www.careerbuilder.com or www.monster.com or www.hotjobs.com to check out the local marketplace.  Use keywords like "manufacturing" or "information technology" to search for jobs.  The results from these searches will not only identify open positions, but will be a good indicator of the job market as well.

Wouldn't it be better to have a look on the various online job boards, local newspapers and your local jobcentre, rather than asking such a specific, locally based question on an national/international question board? Problem for you husband will be lack of experience and certifications. IT is an incredibly difficult industry to break into, and unfortunately, the older you are, the harder it is to break in. Best bet would be to write up a CV and post it online and to various local companies.
