Any know how to make music videos. using my own song and video?

i have windows movie maker if i can use that. if not any ideas ?

i wanna be able to have a video of a band, take the sound away from it. and then use their recording and match it up so that it has music video sound quality

There are only a few instances where a singer/band plays live, say concerts. But for TV guestings, most are just lipsync, for the singer/band to act/present good rapport w/the audience w/o degrading the music quality. Similarly for music videos.

Import good music recording & video files to video editing app (i.e., wmm). Drag & drop music & video files to proper portions in timeline. On edit, mute the sounds from the video files (right click on audio ) suin timeline) such that the sound of the 'final music video' would only come from the good music recording (music portion of timeline). This way you can also use muted video files/pics from varied locations. Hope that the music recording was done in a studio.

If the band is loud, you need something to control the camera's mic gain.

The Sony DCR-HC28 and HC96 have a switch for "normal" and "Low" gain. Low is used for loud audio.

Better to have manual audio control found in the Canon HV20, HV30, Sony HDR-HC7 and HC9.

I've done this a LOT.
