I wear both, but prefer stockings cuz they are sheerer and more comfortable.  I like the feel of the garter belt straps, much better than the elastic tops of the hold ups.

yes, especially in summer. Stockings and a garter belt are more comfortable than hold ups.

I wear both stockings with a garterbelt and hold ups. I prefer the stockings better, the hold ups irritate my thighs.
