Since it is a national holiday on August 25th, my friend and I decided to spend 3 days in Kota Kinabalu. I checked Air Asia's rate and was delighted that its only Php 4,500 (US$ 102) for a roundtrip. However, I was browsing through the net and have read a lot of bad stories/experience about Air Asia, most of it though are dated quite a while back. I was just wondering if anyone of you guys had tried Air Asia recently, say 2008? Are they any better from the stories I read online?

  1. We travelled with them nearly a year ago. There is no assigned seating so it is a mad rush to get onboard the plane to find a seat. The seats seemed cramped and the planes old.

Personally I would find another carrier - do Cebu Pacific run that route? Air Philippines (they have some good deals lately)?
