Question:

Any luck planting bok choy and arugula seeds in July?

I realize that bok choy and arugula are happiest in cool weather, but I was wondering if anyone has had any success planting these seeds this time of year, and any advice as to keeping the plants from overheating (and thus bolting).

I live in zone 4, but even here it can get very hot in the summer.

  1. I'm in zone 6 and it's way too hot in July so I'm waiting until mid August or early September.  Both plants like much cooler weather.
