Areas of specialization are conditioning unhealthy hair, hair growth treatments, basically conditioning and maintaining healthy, beautiful hair. I would educate the customer for in between visits. I am good with every ethincity types of hair and every area of cosmetology. I would just like to get faithful clientele, so I didnt want to offer any freebies, maybe gift cerficiates for $10 off next visit or $10 off for referrals....I need help, there is a lot of competition, so I want to stand out from the rest

  1. Try to promote your services on the internet. For more details, check out http://online-development.blogspot.com.

  2. Check out ideas at http://www.marketing-small-business.net. In particular, go to the marketing plan section and view the sample marketing plan. It was actually written for a hair salon.

  3. Try:

It shows you really great ways to advertise and market for low cost.

    Good luck.

  4. Encourage your clientele to give you their email addresses.  Then keep in touch with them regularly including telling them  about your internet specials.  After a while you'll know which days are your slow days and that's the days you have your specials on. Have a bring a friend special once a month and encourage them also to give you their email address and before you know it your email list will multiply very quickly.

  5. Check out ( http://www.salesandmarketinghelp.com ) they have everything you need to know to grow your business from a marketing and promotions perspective.

  6. Hi,   Yes it is difficult to promote a new business.   Some ideas:

    1. Join a network group where you meet once a week and give each other referrals.  Our hair stylist does well. He got everyone in the group as clients by doing their first haircut free or 1/2 price.

    2.  Pet Marketing:  Have a social hour for pets in your location when people come in, seperate area for health reasons.

    3.  Have different days supporting different not profits where a % of the profits goes to a non profit.  However, be consistant.  i.e. monday, sbca, tues another etc.

    4.  Serve gourmet snacks to clients.

    5.  Have a Make-Over event.

    6.  Have a loyality program with a loyality card. after a certain amount of cuts/points/clients get something.
