Any monarchist feelings?

Is it possible that some or much of anti-monarchist feelings and opinions are by people who are basiclly down and out? That is, out of work, trying to find work, a career, and for whatever reason, can't and equate this with being put down by the Royal Family.

I hate to ask this question, but it seems some questions are geared in this direction.

And, could it be possible, that such people could be able to find positie intervention through personally writing the Queen?

  1. The Monarchy are a bunch of fornicating inbreds. That is it ! And I have a great career (or more) thank you and am very much " UP and IN." You need some coaching in written english and in not being so small minded. I know and have known many people who are out of work, who are by no means down and out. The only down and outs I see are those doing mundane shite every day, flopping in front of a televison at night and getting taxed up the  a s s  to keep an incest ridden Constitutional Monarchy creamed in sickening luxuries, while parts of the world urgently need aid.

If you hate to ask a question then why ask it? Theres nothing more nauseating than apologetic patronising by some lonely jerk with probably no real friends. Weak !

  2. " God save the king " Thats me by the way.

  3. I have no monarchist feelings whatsoever after my healthily successful careers.

A reply said "The queen pays more in direct taxes than she gets from the Civil List". A popular misconception. For a start, nobody outside a very few people the Royal Household knows how much income she gets from property and other investments (e.g. those properties in Manhattan must bring in a fair few dollars). She doesn't have to make a tax return. She doesn't pay income tax. She (and her father etc) do not have to pay inheritance tax. Sure, she pays indirect taxes such as VAT (sales tax).

A few years ago, Charles, also legally exempt from the tax system, decided as a PR move to voluntarily pay income tax on ONE of his inherited cash makers - but only at the lowest rate of income tax.

  4. Good grief this is a bit heavy.  I just don't care!

  5. The queen pays more in direct taxes than she gets from the Civil List. The Queen is not in a position to dictate to anyone and to suggest that she does is either a very big mistake or a downright lie.If anyone does dictate,it is the British Government who lines up where the Queen goes, weather state visits abroad or receiving dignitaries at home, her schedule is worked out for her and she does the work. She is not in a position to say "no,I don't want to have George Dubbya Bush here for a state visit" and just to have to mix with that cretin would warrant a pay rise for anyone.Yes,they do have luxury but then again, how many heads of state don't.How many heads of state do you know who jump onto a bus or into their mini to go to the local supermarket to get the weekly shopping. All that some of the people who have answered this question have done is just repeated the lies and mistakes spouted by a few malcontents.over the years. When was the last time the Queen used this so called power to override a law that was submitted to her?I don't remember a time when it has happened, her, her father, grandfather all the way back for 100 years, just name a time when it happened. You can't because it hasn't happened.

  6. I am not in any way "down and out".  My anti-monarchist feelings and opinions are purely and simply because I think the whole set up is a joke.  One family leeching off everyone else.  One person dictating.  Rubbish.

  7. I dont know where you live but in England I suspect most anti-monarchist feeling is due to the behaviour of certain members of the Royal family. There is little if any relationship between 'down and outs' and anti-monarchist feelings, although it's reasonable to assume there is resentment toward the 'haves' by the 'have nots'. The Queen doesn't personally respond to communications from the general public and it is naive to think she would. The Queen and Royal family have no influence over affairs of state and have no real power, nor do they get involved in Politics. Your question and the first answerer both betray your lack of understanding of the Monarchy or it's function. Long live the Queen.

  8. The queen does do her bit i know she visted farms when the mad cow disease was about to keep them in buisness i don't hate her myself but the fact the government hates her and wants to get rid of her makes me like her more as it is they have atempted to remove every ounce of power away from her which she had to kick out a government if she thought it was courrupt (or something along those lines) the queen doesn't ever dictate to anyone anymore we have a prime minister to do that -cough cough- 'elected dictatorship'

  9. The queen [royal family] has powers that can overthrow/overrule most parliamentary decisions. Thats the only reason they are still recognized. I say out with 'em all. They're still in "power" because the UK* is too scared that it couldn't sustain itself w/o that one power that is NEVER used. I mean powers because she has the ability to veto bills and somehow dismiss Parliament. I'm just saying that the UK* is afraid that if there was no 'Plan B' in case of mass political disaster [ the queens powers ] that the UK would become another US of A. Three branches of government is working pretty crappy right now, but hey;we've been going good for the past 300 years. So I'm again saying: the queen's [royal family] powers are unnecessary. Britain and the rest of the world for that matter, can definitely stand to not have another family looking down on them. To put my answer on this question... the 'down and out' people of the UK shouldn't equate their personal struggles to the queen. She isn't dampering the economy, she isn't stopping employers from hiring. And writing a letter to the queen [ if she ever even gets close to reading it ] will have about a .0000000001% of her actually doing anything about that person's unemployment.

*-not the UK as a people. The government
