A man decides to go and propose to his girlfriend. But one night he has a nightmare full of tragedies - his father gets a heart-attack, his brother gets killed in an accident & girlfriend commits suicide. He wakes up and just dismisses it as a bad dream, but then in real life he experiences deja-vu - all events, surroundings and people he meets resembles what he went through in his nightmare & to his shock even his brother dies in a car accident & dad gets hospitalized for heart attack. He approaches a psychiatrist & the climax is about how they try to save his girlfriend from commiting suicide.

Any Hollywood movies that have this storyline, or somewhat similar to this - i.e. deja vu of tragedies?

  1. The Butterfly Effect.

Except the person(Ashton Kushner) tries to change the past from happening

when he has blackouts that he doesn't remember. Then he realizes that his blackouts are related to the bizarre things that happen to him

    A good movie.

  2. Premonition-  Sandra Bullock

  3. There's this one also about a young lady who was in her car with her friends who had this 'vision' of a highway accident that's gone haywire, and involved lots of people getting killed.  She 'saw' all these while her car is awaiting turn for the major highway.  I forgot the title, but i believe what i described is a sequel of a movie with the same theme: Them trying to outsmart Death. The first movie involved an airplane accident.

Demned! Can't remember the title! Arrgh!

  4. The movie element_115x is trying to think of is Final Destination

  5. I believe you are talking about this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0453467/

  6. The Butterfly Effect, Premonition and Final Destination are the first one's that come to mind but they are similar, not exactly the same as your description.

  7. Only a trillion million. However that does not mean that there is not room for one more.  Good Luck.

  8. Sounds something like final destination.

Also, you sounds like an episode of one of the twilight zones from the ones with Forest Whitiker. Not exaclty that but someone can see who is going to die, and in the end she sees a bunch of people who are going to die and she has to figure out how to stop it.

Of course, the concept may have appeared in any of those old anthology shows like twilight zone or outer limits. You might want to scan through episode descriptions online.

  9. I don't know if it's been made yet, but it sounds like the kind of stuff put out these days.

  10. His father had a heart attack + his brother got killed in a car accident, and his girlfriend want to commit suicide! wow...easy on the guys please
