  1. spanish black radish......... it is a natural pill specifically for upper respitory infections

  2. Here is what I do for myself and my family when we get upper respiratory infections, but, before I continue, please don't hesitate to seek medical care - these types of infections can be dangerous!

    1) If you can't seem to chew fresh garlic, get a clove of fresh garlic and cut it into pill-sized pieces and swallow as you would a capsule. Take a clove 2-4 times a day - it is hands-down the best natural antibiotic there is.

    2) Onions are the next best (in my opinion) - so, while you're ill, cook with onions and garlic even more than usual. Also, frying onions in just a tad of olive oils (slowly!) until they are soft, then putting in cotton rag to place over your chest as a poultice can work wonders.

    3) Vitamin C - I get the vitamin c powder - and give my family 1/2 tsp 2-3 times a day until symptoms disappear. It's called Acsorbic Acid and is basically pure/strong Vitamin C. It is available here in 3 lb containers: http://www.natural-herbs-remedies.com/he...

    4) Since I'm an Aromatherapist, I have to say that using oils helps us IMMENSELY when we have respiratory congestion. Here are a couple of pdf collections of simple aromatherapy recipes (as well as some easy herbal formulations) that really do work:

There's herbal tea recipes and other simple remedies that can help with colds, flu, bronchitis, etc., in those pdfs also.

    5) I'm also a firm believer in Goldenseal - we take 2 capsules 3 times a day when ill. It is another natural antibiotic.

    Hope this helps!

  3. for temporary releif while your waiting for the effects of the vitamins and herbs, I wouldget some eucalyptus or peppermint essential oil, drop a few drops on a cloth and inhale it till you clear up.

  4. get you some garlic pills amd apple cider vinegar. thats what was used before all this stuff we have now.

  5. Whenever you sense and URI, put some garlic in your mouth and keep it there for a few minutes, and eat it (raw garlic).  Also increase your amount of vitamin c.  Try eating lots of oranges.

  6. well take a tea spoon from black cumin that's great

  7. I read that Oil of Oregano is a natural antibiotic.  I started taking it in pill form when I got the shingles.  I've also been giving it to my son who may have a peptic ulcer. I believe it helped with both.

  8. Garlic pills take two every 4 to 6 hrs. my mom does it when she feels like she needs a antibiotics she is in to the natural stuff......

  9. The Mucinex mentioned above should be interesting to you.

The active ingredient, NAC is a chemical form of cysteine, one of the three things needed to make glutathione (GSH)

GSH is the natural antioxidant, detoxifier and immune booster for the body. Unlike the above mentioned, it is the bodies natural antioxidant /immunity enhancer.

So two things need to happen.

One, you need to boost your GSH by increasing foods that have cysteine in them.

The second is also dietary in nature. Start with eating  healthy foods and avoid toxic additives.  More importantly, eat a balanced diet and never eat the same food twice in a three day period.

Eating the same food over and over can create allergies. You may have several and do not know it.

    Best wishes.

  10. It's not exactly homeopathic, but Mucinex has helped me keep my colds from turning into nasty sinus infections.  If I take it throughout my cold (starting at the first sign of the cold), it keeps the mucus "flowing" so it doesn't gum up in my sinuses and cause an infection.  Also, I drink plenty of water and fluids to keep that mucus loose.

  11. Lots of garlic & vitamin C.  You can take odor-free garlic oil capsules.

Also take a probiotic, increasing the GOOD intestinal critters helps you fend off the bad ones.  You wouldn't think that what's in your digestive system could have an effect on your lungs but it really does, I have asthma and started taking a probiotic every day and finally stopped getting respiratory infections in the first place.  This is the first year out of the last seven or eight that I haven't had bronchitis.
