Any new information on the toddler that was beaten to death on a country road?

(June 16, 2008)--Authorities in Stanislaus County, Calif. were trying to figure out Monday why a man beat a toddler to death Saturday night on a country road.

Horrified motorists say they came upon a stopped pickup truck facing the wrong direction.

They say a young man was brutally beating a child behind his truck and throwing the toddler on the ground.

Witnesses told authorities that when they tried to stop the man, he just pushed them away and continued the beating.

A sheriff's helicopter arrived and a police officer shot the man to death.

Authorities are trying to find out the relationship between the man and the child.

A sheriff's spokesman says the toddler was so badly beaten it will have to be identified through blood or DNA testing.

What sickens me the most is the witnesses "tried to stop the man, he just pushed them away".

I just don't understand that sentence.

Every ounce of me would be trying to get between that scum bag and that poor innocent little baby.

Someone please help me understand why these witnesses did not do anything else beside  "we tried to stop the man, he just pushed us away".

You hit him with a rock.  Throw dirt in his eyes.  Tackle him.  ANYTHING.

This story has made me sick ever since I learned about it yesterday.

i didn't know about that. sorry i don't have an answer, but that's just terrible. it kind of reminded me of james bulger, even though i felt like james bulger was even more horrifying.

A Turlock man was fatally shot by police as he kicked, punched and stomped a young toddler to death in front of horrified motorists who tried to stop the attack on a dark country road.

This has been haunting me since I heard about it yesterday. I was sick to my stomach and cried on and off all day and today. What that poor baby must have went through in his final moments is more than I can bear to think about. I look at my own baby, so innocent and sweet and I can't even imagine how someone could be capable of such evil towards a little helpless infant.

Turns out it was the baby's father, Sergio Aguilar a 27 yr old grocery clerk who did this. He had visitation (him and the mother Frances Casian, a kindergarten teacher, were not together). The man was heard muttering that he had to get the demons out of the baby as he beat him. Sickening!!

The babies name was Sergio Casian Aguilar.

I just pray to God to help this little babies soul rest in peace and know that he is being cared for by the angels. Rest In Peace sweet baby.
