Any one been to Sharm El Sheikh? Have booked the Renaissance Golden Beach Hotel?

Would like to know your opinions/advice/tips about this area/resort. Have never been to Egypt before ....

I have stayed at this resort in 2006 and it is v.e.r.y. nice!  It is not close to the 'action' but there is a decent bar in the hotel.  The restaurants are ok, but it is good to leave and try other places as well.  You can rent scuba and the pools are big and there are plenty of chairs to sit or lay in the sun.  The rooms are large and very, very nice...but don't just sit in the rooms!

i myself am Egyptian if you cant tell by my avatar lol. sharm el sheikh is a beautiful place filled with many tourists the tourists out weigh the locals there lol. The hotel never booked there but heard its amazing its nice. Egypt is an amazing country just ten to stay away from the actual  living environment especially the poor places the high class and middle class are is not bad but you will love sharm el sheikh its beautiful
