  1. I have not heard of that adoption agency, but I would like to say I think it's great that you're adopting. My DH and I were planning on adoption when we found out I was pregnant. We are still planning on adopting within the next few years however. Good luck!

  2. Im afraid i don't know much about adoption places in PA, but Good Luck.  I just wanted to say that it is wonderful you are adopting!!   My husband is the only biological child, he has three adopted brothers and sisters. (Now)17 year old boy was the first adopted  who they later found out was mildly retarded due to the mother being beat while pregnant, 16 year old girl who is normal and little girl who is from Ecuador.  My friend Jenny also has three adopted children and i know that both families don't regret at all for adopting.  There are so many children out there that need a loving home, its so wonderful that you are going to be giving a child that loving family they need soon!

    Good Luck!!

  3. Sorry I've never gone through this but I think its great that your adopting. My husband and I have been TTC for 29 months now and I'm starting to concider adoption myself. Best of luck to you!

  4. We used Adoptions From the Heart and LOVED them.  I don't know if they will allow Children and Family Services to do the home study, but they may.  You'll have to check with them.  Please email me thru my profile if you need more info.

Our adoption was supposed to be private, but for certain reasons, it was recommended that we use an agency for an "identified" adoption.  Both the bio family (who we still talk to) and ourselves were very impressed at the amount of work they did on our son's behalf.

    I highly recommend the agency!

  5. it sounds like they would except it, i really hope the best for you and your hubby on a adoption for a baby, for what ever reason your doing this, i hope for happiness, and lots of love for you all. a happy family is a blessing for the nest, best of luck to you all, may good furtunes follow you down the road of happiness

  6. Congratulations on choosing to adopt.  I dont know what services to use...but thank god for people like you.  Me and 2 of my siblings were adopted.  Life could've really sucked if we weren't.  So thank you and people like you!!!

  7. SOUR. PUSS. COMMENT.

Tee Hee.  I hope your adopted kid is as immature as we all are.

  8. I have a problem with any agency who charges $12,000 for an African-American child and $18,000 for a Caucasian child, but I guess that's adoption in America!

I guess I DID have a bad adoption experience though, so you can just ignore this.

As for whether or not the agency would accept the home study, why don't you just like say call and ask them?

  9. That is the problem with adoption...  You can never tell which ones will turn into sour pusses...  ;)

  10. I am not sure if this is the same agency or not.  A friend and a group of others went to a conference through them.  The woman that runs it is an adoptee.  I think she also facilitated an adoption for Angelina Jolie.  When it comes to natural mothers, she is hateful towards them.

  11. My son was adopted 17 years ago and we had a home study done by social workers that were independent of the agency.  As long as they are qualified, licensed with your state, your agency will accept the study.
