Hey everyone. K, so I'm REALLY starting to get sick and tired of OPK's. I have been using them for 3 months now. The first month I thought I got a positive LH Surge, but when I didn't get one at all last month, I thought I may have read the first month's wrong, So this month, since I know excatly how to read them now, I'm trying again. Yesterday, I took a test at 2:30 in the afternoon. Instead of getting just the one control line like I have been getting all week, I actually got a second line that was ALMOST as dark. Its hard for me to explain when you ladies Obviously can't see it, But It was just about the same intensity(which would be a positive.) So, to make sure, I did another test a few hours later, and there was just a faint line, which would indicate no LH surge. Yesterday was day 16 of my 30 day Cycle, so Today I am supposed to Ovulate, so it would have made sense that it was a positive yesterday, Could it have been A Positive LH even though the line was Not exactly as Dark as the control line?? I know they say it must be as dark, or Darker then the control line to be a positive, but this one was just about as dark. But then why was the second test I did jsust a faint line? I started to record my BBT this month as well, so I guess I will be able to tell by that hopefully tomorrow, my temp will go up. We bd yesterday and today again, and we will again tonight...so I'm Really Crossing My FIngers! TTC for 5 months now. I am a bit worried that I am not Ovulating, that is why I am doing the OPK's....but they are just confusing me more!

  1. It sounds as if you are frustruated.  If I were in your situation I would go to the doctor and get my progesterone levels looked at.  If they are 10 and above you ovulated and if they are 10 below you didn't ovulate.  You might be having problems ovulating but they can put you on clomid.  That medication will help you ovulate.  As far as the OPKs are you using First Response Ovulation Kits? Next time buy the digital ones.  Takes the guess work out.  It is best to go get your blood work done.  I didn't and I losed a year because I didnt know that I wasnt ovulated properly.  Good luck and baby dust.

  2. Wow! I have done this twice already, the last time being yesterday and last night.  I use Answer Ovulation strips (20 in a box).  From what I've read and what my doctor told me, is that 1) your urine may have been more diluted between the first and second test and if so, the line on the second test would not be as dark.  2) You may have caught the LH surge on the way down instead of up.  If you detected the surge, then it may have actually started almost immediately after the test prior to testing and receiving the very dark test line, therefore, you could have detected a dark but yet fainter line as it would be going down instead of up.  I did that yesterday...got a dark line, not quite as dark as control line but almost there.  A few hours later, I tested and it was lighter.  But I've been testing every day for the past few days so I'm thinking my urine was diluted.  Still BD'd though!  And I will test this afternoon at my usual time and see what result I get.  I am supposed to ovulate, according to the online calendar, tomorrow so I should get a very dark line today.  Good luck to you!

  3. I will never buy them again.. I have gone through 2 boxes testing 2 times a day so I dont miss it.. once at 2 and another at 6.. they have just been faint the whole time.. I just used my lastone lastnight. So Im not gonna buy another box. Im just gonna keep BDing everyother day, and hope for the best. If nothing happens by next year Im gonna go to the Dr. I wish you the best of luck!

  4. My second month on clomid I never got a + opk and that is the month I got pregnant. GL
