It's amazing! Was there last year for my honeymoon. I recommend Tulum but don't go on the tour in the middle of the day. It get way too hot. Take the one in the morn or later in the afternoon. Outside of the ruins there is a large open market with all kinds of tourist-y things from hammocks to ashtrays to clothing. Playa Del Carmen has shopping as well and a couple of good authentic places to eat. If you like tequila make sure to check out some of the tequilerias in Playa Del Carmen you can get some really amazing stuff there. Have fun and congratulations!
