  1. All answers could be good answers, but also take into consideration the fish and game laws in your area, for a copy of the laws in your area contact your local sporting goods and or bait shop.Use dog food or cat food eighter is good even the dry kind cast out in an area, but please no cans or other containers in the  water.

    Thank You.

  2. the best chum i ever used was canned dog food.just take a s***w driver and punch a lot of holes in the can and throw it out where you are going to fish.the more the better, for best results do this a couple days before you go fishing.

  3. Chicken. Cut up pieces of chicken thigh or legs. The chicken fat attracts saltwater fish on the northeast coast.

  4. take some mussels and crush em up and throw it all in ( including shells) all fish simply can't resist them or you can hook the meat and throw in the shells (one way you get more bait, one way you get more chum=P ) good luck!

  5. One trick to using chum is to add at least one ingredient that you'll be fishing with.

When I fish with hotdogs= I'll make a chum with hotdogs in it

When I fish with liver= I'll make a chum with liver in it.

When I fish with shrimp, I'll add shrimp... Etc.

Sometimes I'll mix it all together

Here is my basic Freshwater frozen recipe

    Fish flavored Dry catfoot

    Water

hotdogs (And/or liver and cut bait)

    Garlic powder

In a blender...Add a tablespoon of garlic powder, grind up catfood =(3-4 cups), Hotdogs= (2-4) Water= (almost to the top of blender) (More catfood than anything)... Let the mix sit in the blender for a couple of hours to absorb the water. Then blend it again.

Pour the mixture into a 1-gallon freezer bag... then put the first bag into another bag and freeze over night.

When you want to use it, remove the plastic bags, and tie a rope or string around the chum and place it a few feet out from the bank... Don't throw it, because it will come off the rope and float away.

Liquid chum= Make up the same chum/s, and don't freeze it. Poke a hole in the bag with a needle at your fishing hole and let the juices flow a drip at a time. (or just pour it all in at one time) you may want several bags of chum if you pour it all in at once.

Dry chum= Mix catfood and garlic in blender, put it in a jug with holes in it, tie a rope or string to the jug and toss it out in the water near where you wanna fish.

For saltwater = Add fish or menhaden oil to the mix/s

You can use pure cut bait too... I've used pure cut bait chum and fish came from everywhere... But it draws in alot of turtles.

There were so many turtles one time, that the snappers were fighting with the softshells... And I could see them coming a mile away down the canal.

The chums will attract fish for about 3 hours even when it's gone... The smell seems to settle in the ground.
