  1. Yes the PDX1.1000 are really nice. i have one pushing a JL Audio 12W7. And it hits really nice. i dont even have all the gain turned up. Its small, nice looking and has real pounding power. i would really recommend it. This amp has never gotten hot and has never turned off on me therefore making it the best amp i have ever owned. get it if you have the money.  Good luck on your choice.

  2. I luv to Hate on Alpine, cuz I sell Pioneer, Kenwood and Eclipse.

But to tell the real truth, the only problem with the amp is the price.  that thing has a msrp of something like $800???

thats a Lot of beer money.

But seriously, the amp will put out 1000 and it is variable resistance, meaning you could be at 4 ohms or 2 ohms and still get 1000 rms from the amp (nice).

the main benefit to the PDX1000 is the size.  It's small and will fit where other amps will not.  But other than size, it really is not that special.  A Kenwood 1XR is almost the same spec and size for msrp $499.  Do the math but the kenwood will come in at nearly 60% the price of an Alpine.

Name brand amps are generally the same as far a quality and as long as its CEA rated 1000rms, the power will be there

Good luck on whichever amp you go with
