Any one have any ideas how to "educate" our politicians?

Did you know the No Child Left Behind Act requires all school by 2014 to have 100% of all studetns on reading and grade level. This includes special needs and LEP students as well. This would be a great "goal" to work to but NCLB also imposes stiff penalties on schools who fail to meet this goal.

  1. Yep, everyone is talking about this and everyoen knows that NCLB is ridiculous and is not working. I dont' know how to educate the politicians, though.

    They are the powers that be and what they say goes.

    In order for schools to show the kids ARE on grade level, they go to lengths such as not counting the lowest test scores, change the scores to show they are ok, pay kids to get good grades, read the test questions to the kids who cant' read, etc.

    Yes this is really happening!   Here is a question about NCLB and it is answered by TEACHERS, just to give you more info into how bad NCLB really is --
