Any one know a really good venue in Auckland for a 50th Party??

It all depends on the type of person the birthday boy/girl is.  But a lot of restaurants have private function rooms available, depending on the number of people in the party.  This is what my husband and I decided on for our wedding reception - we chose our favourite restaurant (special to us because he proposed there) and booked out one half.  There were about 60 of us in total.  It worked a treat.  Find out the guest of honour's favourite eating places and start there.

If you're not bothered about alcohol you could try church halls, which would be very reasonably priced for rental.
