The foo fighters, Taking Back Sunday, Van Atta High, Linkin Park, Placebo, Bullet for my Valentine, Korn, Slipknot.. to name but a few. I knowww they're not exactly 'classic' rock BUT THEY'RE d**n GOOD (:

The foo fighters, the Killers, and Nirvana are worth listening to. I would start there as if I mention more they will get worse in how good they are. These three are very good rock groups with songs you will remember and want to listen to more than once.

Paramore is one the best alternative rock groups - try their songs Misery Business and Crushcrushcrush.

I also really love Simple Plan - their lyrics are actually meaningful and they always try to come up with something new.  My favourite songs from them are Save You, When I'm Gone, Your Love Is A Lie and Perfect.

Daughtry is also pretty good - I love their song Over You.  The Great Escape by Boys Like Girls is also really good.
