The police had a search warrant. They found all the adults that were in the home outside and didn't tell any one of them why they were there or for what.

  1. I think the reason your not getting any feedback is because no one is really sure what your asking.  It sounds like everyone was outside and they went straight into the house because they had a search warrant... and didn't tell anyone, And you don't mention if they found what they were looking for and if anyone got arrested.

  2. The knock and announce (K&A) rule has recently changed in its effect.  the law is still that the police must K&A before entering a home and executing a search warrant.  It used to be that if the police failed to do so that any evidence could be suppressed, i.e. thrown out of court.  In recent years however, the United States Supreme Court ruled that evidence will no longer be suppressed if the police fail to K&A, instead, that the aggrieved citizen can sue the police officers/department in a civil court.  Realistically, what happens now is the police barge in to homes in the dead of night and sometimes get shot or they shoot innocent citizens.  It sounds like in your situation, the police failed to comply with the K&A rule.  Unfortunately, the evidence seized will not be suppressed, so I guess you can sue them.  Good luck!
