indian - just go to rusholme. you will have your pick of some great cuisine

chinese, thai etc. - china town in manchester. yang sing is great. also just outside manchester there is a restaurant called tung fung its in worsley. you will find no better,  anywhere!

Not sure about the whole of the North West but you could try going into Manchester. If you fancy a curry you could go to Rushholme, also known as the "curry mile". Lots of different restaurants for you to choose from but i would recommend Al Bilal. Never had a bad meal there yet and the staff are really friendly. You also could try going into China town, again in Manchester. Only ever ate at a buffet restaurant so not really sure which would be the best place to eat there. Good luck anyway.
